CARD CLASS SAMPLES

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

Yes, I know it has been raining off and on all day, but this will make all the guys happy because they can go out and mow their lawns tomorrow!  The rain also didn't stop the kids, grandkids, and their friends from coming over to go swimming.  You just learn to make the best of it or the Summer will pass you by.

For me, I have been stuck in my Studio for two weeks trying to coordinate the updating of the new Excel Automated Workshop Forms.  What a job!  I finally uploaded the file to Splitcoast last night, so it is ready for all those July 1 Stampin' Up orders.  I am so spoiled using this automated form, I hate having to get out my adding machine when this spreadsheet figures everything for me.  Plus, all I have to type in is the Item Number and it populates the Workshop/Demonstrator Form with the description, price, etc., just like OEX.  Great tool for my workshops, as I can take my new laptop with me and enter in orders then send a copy to my customer.

I have also been cleaning/organizing my studio to purge the discontinued product, make new files for the new Color Collection, and decide what I am going to sell.  Another huge job!!  I'm not even half-way done, but have to stop tomorrow and start making swap cards and cards for my next class.

Anyway, here are my cards from last week's card class.  I loved these cards because I got to use some of my stamps, colors, etc. that will be discontinued next week.  So have a looky and see what you think.

This is suppose to be a baby card, but I didn't have any "girlie" baby stamps, so used a new one from the Summer Mini.  You can't see here, but her wings have dazzling diamonds so she really sparkles.

This is my "boy" baby card using the soon to be discontinued Nursery Necessities stamp (boat).  The sentiments for this and the above card came from the Everything Nice set which I just love and it will still be around for at least one more year!!

Everybody just loved this card.  I can't believe this is the first time I have used this stamp set (Things I Love).  This set is also in the new catalog -- Yippee!!

This is a case of one of my cards that I think I made at an upline meeting (Ronda Wade's).  I took it out about a month ago and put it on my card tree and all of my customer's keep telling me how much they like it so decided now was the time to use in my card class.  Especially because this set (Happy Everything) will be gone next week!!

And finally, another set retiring that I had never used, Spring Song.  I really, really liked this set but just got it this last month.  I will be keeping this one for my "personal" use because it is a real keeper (love the hummingbird with flower stamp that comes in the set).

Well, that's it for today.  I guess it is back to work for me.  Have a wonderful week everybody and don't forget to leave a comment to let me know you stopped by.

Happy Stamping Hugs,
Sandi

OPPORTUNITY NIGHT

Good Morning America!!

Yes, it is a little later in the morning -- but still morning!!  Today is a very quick posting to show you samples of projects from my Opportunity Night last Friday. I held the event to present the great opportunities Stampin' Up provides for running your own business or just signing on as a demonstrator to purchase product at a discount.  With Stampin' Up offering a promotion package this month to sign up as a demonstrator for as little as $99, this is a great time to join a leading company for stamps and accessories.

So we had a little wine and cheese and thoroughly enjoyed the night.  I ran the event more or less like a workshop, but featured only one stamp set (Watercolor Trio) which currently comes in the $99 starter kit promotion.  The ladies were amazed at how much they could do with only one stamp set, two sheets of Designer Series Paper, and 3 markers.  This is such a versatile set and I loved it even before the starter kit came out.  Here are some pictures of the simple projects made that are great for first-time stampers.

Card using Watercolor Trio Stamp Set; Old Olive and Orchard Opulence Cardstock; and Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper.

Another card using same products listed above.  I showed them how lovely this card was even without the flower and how just adding the flower made it into a WOW card.  The flower was simply punched, sponged on edges, misted with water, wadded up and unwrapped before adding brad and dimensional to attach.

This picture and the below picture were just little notebooks and SU pens I made in two different designs for my guests as a thank you for attending.

I hope you enjoyed my projects, please be sure to leave a comment.  I'll be back soon with pictures from my card class tomorrow.

Birthday Bash

Good Morning America!!

It's been a while since I have used my favorite "good morning" greeting, so feeling good because I was up at 4 a.m. today.  I actually didn't crash last night until around 1:30 a.m. (well, guess it was early morning).  I had my Stampin' Up Opportunity Night last night, which I will tell you about in my next post.  I actually got my studio cleaned up after everybody left, and am so glad now that I didn't put it off until today.

Anyway, today I want to share with you my cards I did to celebrate the June birthdays of my grandkid's.  We took both families out for dinner Tuesday, at "Wild Wings" (I think that is what it is called).  This was my first time there, and I was surprised that I actually liked it, and even more so that my husband really liked it (he is not a big chicken fan, and never eats wings).

This was Emily's card (she turned 19 on June 4).  She had requested a rag purse, in the black and white material like her mom's, and SU's charm bracelet.  So the card matches her purse (black and white).  I'm telling yah, I just love this stamp set.  This card was much more beautiful in person, than this picture depicts (click on the picture to get a better view).

This is Nick's card, who turns 12 on June 14.  I ended up moving the clip to the inside to clip his birthday money to the cardstock and to have the "hugs & kisses" inside because he is not into "mushy" right now (also I knew he was having a friend attend dinner with us and I know enough by now to not embarrass the boys with mushy in front of their friends -- thank goodness they will still hug and kiss me in public).

Have a great weekend in between the rain and thanks for stopping by!! Sandi

Another Brayer Card

Well, I'm finally getting around to updating my blog.  I really meant to do this last week, but time got away from me.  Plus, my computer is on its last leg so I am just babying it right now.  I did spend all day Saturday shopping for a new laptop and everything to go with it.  Now I have to get all my software installed so I can use it!!  It will take a while before I will have everything installed the way I want it.  Plus, I can finally install My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!!  I am also having my first Opportunity Night Friday evening to share all the exciting perks you receive as a Stampin' Up Demonstrator.  If you would like to join the group, please give me a call.  I have a really fun night planned with stamping, wine, and munchies.

I only have one card to show you tonight and a couple of pictures from my grandson's graduation last Sunday.

Below is my swap card I made for the June RubberQueen meeting.  The idea for this came from Michelle Zindorf.  I didn't have her stamp that she used, and it doesn't even come close to being as beautiful as her card, but I liked it anyway.  This card would have looked much better if I would have stamped a solid image, but we were to use something from the Summer Mini for our swap cards.  This was the best I could come up with that would fit with the background.  Apricot Appeal was brayered in the middle, Not Quite Navy on the sides, then Night of Navy on the sides but not covering all of the Not Quite Navy.  White gel pen for the stars, Going Gray sponged on bottom, Sahara Sand Marker for light pole shadow.  I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for the Mirror Technique.  Easy peasy card to do with the brayering.   I love, love, love Michelle's tutorials -- if you haven't checked out her blog, I have a link on my right side-bar under Favorites.

My Swap Card -- "When Life Was Simple"

Here is my grandson, Zachary, just before leaving for graduation from Okemos High School.  He was super nervous, but managed to give me one of his super smiles.

Zachary with mom, Deborah, and dad, Steve.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! Sandi
